Have you published fiction, memoir or an essay (up to 2,500 words) in a small literary journal (circulation up to 5,000) or online?
Would you like to give it a second lease of life?
Second lives for short stories are an established literary tradition – some even have multiple incarnations – first in a literary journal, then an anthology and even, for the lucky few, adaptations into scripts for one-act plays or video.
We are looking for your favorites – the stories that, when you pick them off the shelf and read them again, you think, blimey, they are good.
Short stories are an ancient narrative art form with roots in oral story-telling. Typically, in oral traditions, stories are kept alive by being re-told again and again. Part of our mission at eChook is to keep wonderful stories alive by sharing them with eChook’s thousands of readers in 75 countries around the world. If readers enjoy your work, they’ll follow the links to read more.
Accepted stories will be excerpted on our ‘Authors’ page, along with links to the author’s website/blog, etc., announced on our FB page and in Tweets, and the complete story will be included as a bonus in our free newsletter, LITERARY DELIGHTS, along with your bio in an AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT.
