What a pleasure it is to report some good news for writers!
According to a report by the National Endowment for the Arts, writers will see a 15% increase in jobs by 2018. That equates to about 22,500 new jobs and the projections are due to arts organizations catching up with technological trends. The report says, “Skilled writers are needed for online publications, websites, and newsletters to attract customers.”
Jobs like these will help pay the bills while writers complete projects that may well be more satisfying on a creative level – stories that could satisfy the quietly-expanding demand for visual storytelling created by online video and web-connected TVs.
